A driver has died following a serious two-car collision in Wyndham Vale, Melbourne’s west, on Saturday afternoon, August 8, 2026.
Victoria Police said emergency services were called to Bolton Road near Ballan Road at about 2:05 p.m. after two vehicles collided. The driver and sole occupant of one of the vehicles died at the scene.
Police had not formally released the identity of the deceased driver in the latest information available. The person’s family and background have therefore not been publicly confirmed.
The second vehicle involved in the crash was carrying a driver and a passenger. Neither person was injured, and both remained at the scene following the collision.
Local reports indicated that the crash became particularly distressing when the vehicle carrying the deceased driver caught fire. Bystanders reportedly stopped and attempted to assist before emergency crews arrived.
