The Maumee community is remembering Paul J. Kowalski, who passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, at the age of 85, surrounded by his loving family.
Paul’s passing marked the loss of a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and cherished friend. Throughout his life, he was known for placing family at the center of everything he did and for creating lasting memories with the people he loved.
A Life Rooted in Family
Born on May 19, 1940, Paul grew up in the Toledo area and attended Macomber High School. His younger years were filled with friendships, school dances and experiences that would eventually lead him to the woman who became his lifelong partner.
Paul and Sharon Kowalski shared 63 years of marriage. They first met as high school sweethearts and built a family and life together that remained one of Paul’s greatest sources of happiness.
Their decades-long marriage was marked by devotion, companionship and a shared commitment to their children and extended family.
A Dedicated Career
Paul began his working life at an A&P food store before spending many years as a foreman at Chrysler in Perrysburg.
Following his retirement from Chrysler, Paul continued working alongside Sharon at DiSalle Real Estate Company. He eventually retired completely, allowing him to spend more time with the people and activities that mattered most to him.
Although Paul took pride in his career, his family was always his greatest priority.
A Proud Father and Grandfather
Paul was a loving husband to Sharon and a devoted father to his two sons, John and Gary.
His family also included his grandchildren Ben, Adam, Jacob, Kayla and Chad, as well as his great-grandchildren Graham, Ruby and Logan.
Paul took great pride in watching his family grow. He made an effort to be present for the important moments in their lives, attending sporting events, music programs, honors assemblies and other milestones.
For Paul, those occasions were not simply events on a calendar. They were opportunities to show his children and grandchildren how proud he was of them.

His legacy can be found in the family he built with Sharon and in the memories created over 85 years of life. From his early days in the Toledo area to his years as a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Paul remained deeply connected to the people around him.
His passing leaves a significant void for those who loved him, but the memories he created will continue to bring comfort to his family.
