Iisiz Lopez, a 20-year-old woman from New York City, died Friday afternoon following a serious multi-vehicle crash on the Garden State Parkway in Lacey Township, New Jersey, leaving family, friends and loved ones mourning her sudden death.
The collision occurred shortly before 3 p.m. on August 7, 2026, in the northbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway, according to New Jersey State Police spokesman Jeffrey Lebron.
How the Crash Happened
Police said a 26-year-old New York City man was driving a Toyota sedan northbound with four passengers when the vehicle veered off the roadway to the left and struck a guiderail.
The Toyota then returned to the roadway and collided with a Hyundai sedan traveling in the same direction.
Lopez and an infant, who were both seated in the rear of the Toyota, were ejected during the crash. Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The infant survived and suffered minor injuries, according to authorities.
Several People Injured
The Toyota driver, the infant and the vehicle’s other passengers were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the Hyundai also sustained minor injuries in the collision.
